M-TAC Lower Back Protection with Ballistic Package 1A for CUIRASS QRS is designed for M-TAC plate carriers of the Cuirass QRS model or any other plate carrier with a Velcro-closed lower section.

This model is created to protect the lower back from shrapnel and ricochets during combat missions. It attaches with a special Velcro flap, which is installed at the back of the plate carrier.

The lower back protection is made from Cordura 500D, an ultra-durable material resistant to abrasion and heavy loads. It comes with a ballistic package designed to protect against ricochets and shrapnel. Made from ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), it meets the STANAG 2920 standard with a fragmentation resistance rating (V-50) of approximately 580 m/s.

For reference, a ballistic package with a similar composition corresponds to protection class 1a (9x18 APS) according to DSTU(National Standard of Ukraine) 4103-2002, and protection class 1 (9x18 APS, 9x19 Luger) according to the new DSTU 8782:2018. (Note: Class 1a and Class 1 refer to the equivalent composition tested on standard samples of 400x400mm. Therefore, on smaller-sized and shaped samples, the behind-armor blunt trauma may differ.)
